Using Discover’s Tools To Help You Get Out of Debt

by matsiltala on June 16, 2009

Let’s face it…Americans are in too much debt. If you have found yourself in a bit too much debt, Discover has some tools that might help.

Discover Card recently introduced the Spend Analyzer. The Spend Analyzer is a new tool exclusively offered by Discover card that was designed to help you get out of debt.

Unless you keep a detailed record of all of your expenditures each month, it can be hard to determine exactly where your money is going. Credit card monthly statements give you a list of all of your purchases, but most of the time these purchases are listed in chronological order. There is no easy way to itemize the purchases made or categorize them.

The Spend Analyzer lets you categorize your purchases and see exactly where your money is going. Seeing where your money goes is the first step in getting out of debt. The Spend Analyzer lets you see where your money is going, lets you see your spending patterns and it lets you sort that information according to different details.

The Paydown Planner is another Discover tool that is sure to help you get out of debt. The Paydown Planner lets you create a realistic plan that will help you pay down your debt in a timely manner, without having to pay a debt consolidation or elimination company.

These tools are free to Discover card holders and are excellent tools that can really help you get out of and stay out of debt. Both programs are available via the Internet, which makes it fast, easy and convenient. Of course, Discover’s customer service representatives are there to help with any questions that you might have. Choose a Discover card and see how your finances improve with the Spend Analyzer and the Paydown Planner.
